Fine lines and wrinkles

Lines form for different reasons: muscle movement, lost collagen, sun exposure and skin quality. Treating them well starts with working out which kind you have.

Overview

About fine lines and wrinkles

Dynamic lines appear when you move your face, such as frown lines, forehead lines and crow's feet. Static lines are visible at rest and usually reflect thinner skin, collagen loss and sun damage over time. Most faces have a mix of both.

Because the causes differ, so do the treatments. A neuromodulator can soften lines caused by movement, while lines etched into the skin often respond better to resurfacing, collagen-stimulating treatment or carefully placed filler.

What you might notice
  • Lines between the brows, across the forehead or at the corners of the eyes
  • Lines that remain visible when your face is at rest
  • Fine crepey texture under the eyes or on the cheeks
  • Lines around the mouth and lips
How Fountain approaches it

A physician looks at your face at rest and in motion before suggesting anything. Options may include Botox® or Dysport® for movement lines, Morpheus8™ or CO₂ resurfacing for texture, and daily skincare to protect the result.

Physician lead
What to expect

Consultation, treatment and follow-up

01

Assessment

A physician examines the skin, asks about history and triggers, and confirms what the concern actually is before any treatment is suggested.

02

A plan and a cost

Options are explained with realistic expectations and limits. Where treatment is cosmetic, the full cost is quoted before anything is booked.

03

Follow-up

Progress is reviewed at an interval suited to the condition, and the plan is adjusted if the skin does not respond as expected.

Where treatment is cosmetic, cost depends on the treatment, the area and the number of sessions, so it is quoted at consultation once a plan exists. Results vary between individuals.

Fine lines and wrinkles: frequently asked questions

Can wrinkles be removed completely?

Deep, long-standing lines can usually be softened rather than erased. A physician will tell you at consultation what is realistic for your skin.

Should I start with injectables or a laser?

It depends on whether the lines come from movement, skin quality or both. Many plans combine approaches over time.
